OFFICIAL SERIES RULES & CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFICATIONS

DRIVER ELIGIBILITY

      • Novice Friendly: Prior Rally-X or track experience is not required to compete on our regular track circuits.
      • Forest Stages Requirement: To clear safety parameters and compete on our technical forest rally stages, drivers must possess verifiable prior experience in a FIRM Rally-X round, a formal FIRM Rally Course, or a sanctioned Stage Rally event.
      • Mandatory Driver’s Meetings: Attendance at the morning Driver’s Meeting is strictly mandatory for all competitors.

CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFICATIONS & SCORING

      • Minimum Attendance: Drivers must attend a minimum of three (3) out of the four (4) scheduled events to qualify for the season-end championship standings.
      • Drop-Round Scoring: Season standings are calculated using a driver’s best three (3) event scores.
      • Tie-Breaker Rule: In the event of a points tie at the end of the season, scores from the fourth (dropped) event will be added to the driver’s cumulative total to determine the winner.
        • Ties in Individual Event Scoring: If two drivers in the same class finish an individual event with the exact same cumulative time down to the hundredth of a second, the tie will be broken by comparing their single fastest individual lap time of the day. The driver with the quickest single run takes the higher podium position.
      • Minimum Class Sizes: A vehicle class must maintain a minimum of two (2) active entries per event for that class to qualify for official season championship points and prizes.
      • NEW FOR 2026 (Perfect Attendance):  Any driver who achieves perfect attendance by competing in all four (4) rounds of the season will automatically bypass individual event class minimum constraints and qualify for the season championship standings.
        • Minimum Performance Requirement: To be eligible to win a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place season championship trophy, jacket, or credit prize, a driver must successfully complete and receive a valid cumulative finish time in a minimum of two (2) events during the season.
        • Exclusion of Participation-Only Points: Accumulating attendance points alone via multiple Event DNFs does not qualify a driver for a podium payout, even if they achieve perfect attendance.

VEHICLE & CLASS RESTRICTIONS

      • No Class Manipulation: Drivers are strictly prohibited from switching classes solely to help another competitor’s class meet the minimum entry requirements.
      • Mid-Event Vehicle Changes: Drivers may not switch vehicles during an active event without explicit clearance from the Chief Scrutineer or Lead Event Staff. The replacement vehicle must fit into the exact same competition class for the original scores to count.
      • Example Scenario: If a driver in the Open AWD Light (OAL) class suffers a mechanical breakdown, a fellow competitor may offer to let them drive a backup vehicle. If that backup vehicle belongs to a different class (e.g., Open AWD Heavy), the stranded competitor will receive a technical DNF for their original class. However, they may continue running the track for un-timed “fun runs” without accumulating points—unless the Chief Scrutineer formally approves a class change that creates zero competitive advantage.

SCORING & CONDUCT

      • Determining Winners: Daily class winners are determined by the lowest cumulative total time after all run times are aggregated and all applicable penalties are applied.
      • Single-Competitor Points: Regular season points will be awarded to an individual driver following an event regardless of how many competitors showed up in their specific class that day.
      • Prize Announcements: Official championship prizes vary year-to-year and will be formally announced and awarded at the conclusion of the series.
      • Driver Responsibility: Competitors are fully responsible for reading, understanding, and adhering to this rulebook in its entirety. For questions or pre-event rules clarifications, please contact our Rally-X Program Director directly at [email protected]

EVENT REGULATIONS

VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION & TRANSPONDERS

      • Registration Accuracy: Your Name, Vehicle Type, and Competition Class MUST be accurate in MotorsportReg (MSR) when registering.
        • The FIRM is not liable for timing or scoring discrepancies caused by incorrect user profiles.
      • Transponder Test Fitting: Competitors must test-fit their transponder mounts prior to their very first hot run. This ensures quick, seamless transponder swaps between different run groups.
      • Property Liability: The FIRM is not responsible for any lost, dropped, or damaged transponders or personal items on the property.

VEHICLE NUMBER REGULATIONS

      • Mandatory Display: All vehicles must clearly display their assigned race number and group letter on both sides of the vehicle at all times. Numbers are chosen by the competitor during online registration.
      • Size & Contrast: Decals, magnets, or numbers must be at least 8 inches tall. The background color and the numbers/letters must highly contrast and be clearly visible to corner stations and timing staff.
      • Pre-Tech Inspection: Drivers must completely install their numbers and letters prior to entering the Technical Inspection lane.
      • Backup Painter’s Tape: Painter’s tape will be available on-site at registration for drivers who do not have custom magnets, decals, or number backers.
      • Penalties for Missing Numbers: Failure to display readable numbers during an event will result in a time penalty, incorrect lap tracking, or an immediate DNF for that run at the discretion of the timing staff.

CLASS ELIGIBILITY PROTESTS

      • Vehicle Eligibility: A registered competitor has the right to contest the class eligibility of a rival vehicle within their own specific class.
      • How to Protest: The challenge must be brought directly to the Chief Scrutineer. All vehicle compliance and classing decisions made by the Scrutineer are final.

PENALTIES, TIMING, & DISPUTES

TIME PENALTIES (per incident)

      • +5 Seconds: Knocking down or displacing a course cone.
      • +10 Seconds: Knocking down or displacing a course barrel.
      • +10 Seconds: Missing a designated course gate
      • +10 Seconds: Late arrival to the grid or staging lane for a scheduled run group.

RUN-LEVEL CODES & BOGEY TIMES

      • Bogey Time Calculation: Bogey Time is calculated as the driver’s own slowest recorded lap time of the day (after penalties) + 30 seconds. This calculation method is subject to review by event officials, and any changes will be updated prior to race day.
      • DNF (Did Not Finish – Run Level): Applied if a competitor crosses the start line but experiences an on-track mechanical failure, spin-out, or goes off-course and cannot cross the finish line. Because they started but did not finish, a run-level DNF receives a Bogey Time.
      • DNS (Did Not Start- Run Level): Applied if a competitor cannot start a specific run due to a sudden mechanical issue in the paddock. Times for any mechanical DNS laps will be calculated as a Bogey Time, strictly subject to the Continuation Rule below.
        • Mechanical Exception (Earns Bogey): If a driver misses a lap strictly due to a sudden mechanical issue in the paddock but manages to fix the car and continues competing in their remaining laps for the day, that missed lap will be coded as a DNS and awarded a Bogey Time.
        • Non-Mechanical / Negligence (No Time / Event DQ): If a driver receives a DNS because they were late to grid, missed their run group, or simply chose not to run, no Bogey time will be awarded. This triggers a voluntary absence rule, resulting in an immediate Event DQ (0 points for the day).
      • NO TIME AWARDED (N/A) & THE CONTINUATION RULE (MAINTAINING YOUR BOGEYS)
        • NO TIME AWARDED (N/A) DEFINITIONS
          • Mechanical Failure (No Time): If a competitor experiences a mechanical failure causing them to no longer be able to compete for the remainder of the event, no lap time will be awarded for a DNS or DNF. This will be notated as N/A.
          • Voluntary Forfeiture: For any competitor who chooses not to complete all of their laps when there are no mechanical issues present, the competitor forfeits their lap time, and no time will be awarded. This will be represented by N/A.
      • THE CONTINUATION RULE (MAINTAINING YOUR BOGEYS)
        • Strict Safety Net Limitation: Bogey times will only be awarded on DNS/DNF laps where the competitor was able and attempted to continue competing for the remainder of the event.
        • Active Competition Required: Bogey times for a run-level DNS or DNF are only awarded if the competitor remains at the event, repairs their vehicle, and continues to actively compete in their remaining scheduled runs for the day.
        • Early Withdrawal (Event DNF): If a driver completes their first lap but cannot complete the remainder of the day due to a catastrophic mechanical failure, they will not receive Bogey times for those missed runs. This results in an Event DNF (1 championship attendance point, no final event placement time, and no cumulative score calculated for the day).
          • THE “SUZIE” SCENARIOS
            • Scenario A (Earns Bogey / Stays in Event): Suzie completes her 1st run. In the paddock before her 2nd run, her car breaks down. She misses the run and gets a DNS. She fixes it in time for her 3rd and 4th runs and finishes the day. Because she continued competing, she receives a Bogey Time for run 2 and keeps her event placement.
            • Scenario B (No Bogeys / Event DNF): Suzie completes her 1st run. Her car suffers a catastrophic failure before her 2nd run and cannot be fixed, forcing her to pack up and go home. Because she cannot continue competing for the day, she does not get Bogey times. She receives an Event DNF and 1 Championship Point for attendance.

TIMING EQUIPMENT MALFUNCTIONS & FAILURES

      • Singular Timing Failure (Missed Lap): In the event of an isolated hardware or transponder malfunction that prevents the accurate recording of an individual competitor’s run time, the driver will be granted a mandatory provisional rerun. Reruns must be taken as soon as practically possible at the discretion of the Event Officials. The time recorded during the rerun will completely replace the missed run.
      • Systemic Timing Failure: If a widespread loop, power, or software failure occurs that affects an entire run group or event session, The FIRM reserves the right to implement alternate timing methods. This includes transitioning to manual backup timing (e.g., synchronized stopwatches) at the sole discretion of the Rally Director.
      • Competitor Responsibility: Drivers are strictly responsible for properly mounting and checking their transponders prior to hot runs. Reruns will not be granted for times missed due to a driver failing to securely mount their transponder, dead transponder batteries (if using a personal device), or losing the transponder on the track.

INQUIRIES & SCORING PROTESTS

      • Official Postings: Once an event concludes, preliminary results will be published across our official channels, including Facebook, Instagram, MotorsportReg (MSR) competitor accounts, and via email.
      • How to Submit: Drivers have a formal window to contest competitor times, vehicle placement, or assessed penalties. All inquiries must be submitted directly via email to the Rally Director at [email protected]
      • The Deadline: The official protest window lasts between 24 to 48 hours from the exact time results are posted online. The precise deadline date and time will be explicitly stated within the results announcement text.
      • Finality of Scores: Failure to submit a formal email inquiry before the stated deadline means that all posted times, penalties, final placements, and series points are locked and permanently set. No retroactive adjustments or scoring appeals will be accepted after the deadline passes.
      • Abuse of Staff: Timing glitches and scoring disputes happen in racing. Any competitor who exhibits aggressive, abusive, or unsportsmanlike behavior toward timing personnel, scoring staff, grid marshals, or event stewards will face an immediate Event DQ (0 points) and potential suspension from the entire series.
